Stearin was discovered in 1811 by the Frenchman Shevriol. Basic products for producing stearin are represented by animal or vegetable fats and oils. As vegetable raw the palm oil takes the first place. Since 1818 the stearin is used in the production of candles. Stearin is also used in food and cosmetic industry. The wide range of applications of the palm oil makes the stearin harmless for human health.


The obtained in 100 % from vegetable and renewable raw materials can be defined. Unlike petroleum-based paraffin as СО2 –neutral. The stearin is biodegradable and can be disposed as waste without harming the environment. The candles from this material do not drip and do not smoke. They contain high amounts of air which gives these products a unique crystal structure.
